PROSIXTEMP Proseries Six Wireless Temperature Detector
The Honeywell Home PROSIXTEMP is a wireless encrypted temperature sensor for use with the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS and Lyric Systems. This sensor alerts the system upon detecting an unusually high or low temperature that indicates a faulty HVAC system. Buy the Honeywell Home PROSIXTEMP from Omega Security.
Description
PROSIXTEMP Proseries Six Wireless Temperature Detector
- Know exactly when a room falls above or below your specified temperature.
- Get alerts through Total Connect.
- Works with Honeywell Home Proseries panels
The Honeywell Home PROSIXTEMP is an environmental sensor for the PROA7PLUS, PROA7PLUSC, PROA7, and PROA7C that responds to unusually high or low temperatures that indicate a faulty HVAC system. This wireless temperature sensor communicates with the panel using 128-bit AES encryption.
For complete operation, the PROSIXTEMP uses two (2) zones on a ProSeries Panel. One zone is for low-temperature detection, where the sensor will alert the system if the temperature drops below 45°F for at least ten (10) minutes. The other zone is for high-temperature detection, and the sensor will alert the system if the temperature rises above 95°F for at least ten (10) minutes. You can program the zones as Monitor Zones to have a trouble condition occur on the system when an extreme temperature is detected, or the zones can be set as 24-Hour Auxiliary Zones to have an alarm occur upon detecting a high or low temperature. If you program the zones as 24-Hour Auxiliary, then make sure to specify to the central station that they are temperature sensor zones if you receive central station monitoring service.
Both high-temperature detection (HOT) and low-temperature detection (COLD) are considered to be “Services” for the PROSIXTEMP sensor. You can toggle each Service ON or OFF, depending on how you want to use the sensor. If you want to turn ON the HOT Service for high-temperature detection and turn OFF the COLD Service for low-temperature detection, then that is certainly possible. Alternatively, you can also do the opposite and turn ON the COLD Service, and turn OFF the HOT Service. Remember that each service you enable will take up a system zone. Disabling one service if you aren’t very concerned about the PROSIXTEMP responding to both high and low temperatures can be a great way to save a zone.
As we mentioned before, the PROSIXTEMP will only activate upon detecting a temperature outside of the listed threshold for at least ten minutes (10). The sensor will not immediately activate upon the temperature falling below 45°F or rising above 95°F. Only after ten minutes of the extreme temperature being present will the PROSIXTEMP alert the system. The faulted HOT or COLD zone will restore upon the temperature returning to within the listed threshold and staying within the threshold for at least ten (10) minutes. Until that time period has elapsed with the temperature inside the listed threshold, the zone will remain faulted on the system. Please note that the PROSIXTEMP is accurate within plus/minus 3°F.
Many PROSIXTEMP users will set up Total Connect 2.0 notifications to alert them in the event that the PROSIXTEMP is activated. This way, they will know to take action quickly after a HOT or COLD temperature event occurs. Remember that you will need an alarm monitoring plan to access Total Connect 2.0 and take advantage of this functionality. Also, keep in mind that the PROSIXTEMP is for indoor use only. You should not install it outside to try and monitor outdoor temperatures. The sensor can become irreversibly damaged if it is left exposed to inclement weather or other outdoor elements.
The Honeywell Home PROSIXTEMP relies on a single lithium 3V CR123A battery for power. The expected battery life is about five (5) years. The wireless sensor uses 128-bit AES encryption in all of its communications with a ProSeries Security Panel. The sensor has a wireless communication range of more than 300 feet in an open-air environment. Some of the features for the PROSIXTEMP include RF supervision, tamper detection, and low-battery detection. The green LED light on the PROSIXTEMP assists with enrollment, and it also indicates a tamper condition. Mounting hardware for the PROSIXTEMP comes included. The sensor measures 3.13″L x 1.61″W x 1″D.
